MCC Men’s Basketball Confident Heading Into Regional Tournament

Sports

The McLennan Community College men’s basketball team is playing in the Regional Tournament this weekend in Abilene. The Highlanders face Odessa College on Thursday, who is sporting a 14-2 conference record.  The Highlanders are well aware that they control their destiny this weekend, as they look to punch their ticket to the NJCAA National Tournament.

“I mean it’s 0-0 it’s a new season right now,” Dayante McClellan said.

“… we’ve been fortunate to be in post season every year, and once you get there, anything can happen,” Kevin Gill said.

The Highlanders are heading into the Regional Tournament on a three game win streak, with an 8-6 conference record, and have not lost a conference game by more than 9 points.  As the team gets set for their first game against Odessa, they’re confident, knowing that every game they lost, was within reach.

…”you’ve got to be playing your best basketball, and we haven’t played our best yet, so we’re just going in with the confidence…” Gill Said.
