The Baylor Bears are still two and a half weeks from the start of their season, but there is still work to be done.
Luckily for the Bears they have guys like Tight Ends Coach Joey McGuire to keep things lively and upbeat during practice.
“I’ve probably had a bad day but the kids are not going to know it,” McGuire said. “I have a philosophy that whenever you get out of bed and your feet hit the floor, you make a choice to have a good day or bad day, and I’m going to make a choice to have a good day, at least that’s what this team is going to see. No matter what is going on inside or what’s going on around, they’re going to get everything I have.”
Senior offensive lineman Blake Blackmar who leads by example enjoys having a guy like McGuire to keep things going at practice.
“I just kind of go out there and focus on doing my job to the best of my abilities, so it’s really important to have those guys that get everyone going and jumping around,” he said. “I’ll never be the guy dancing or anything, but it’s good for the morale of the team and it’s good to help set the practice off on the right note.”
