Mens Tennis Feels Tested Entering Big 12’s

The Baylor Mens Tennis team will head to Austin as the 5th seed this weekend, opening up against 4th seeded Oklahoma State.

Baylor’s last five matches have all come against Big 12 teams ranked inside the top 30. Coach Matt Knoll feels like those tests have them ready for the postseason that begins on Friday morning with a Match against Oklahoma State.

“Well it helps a ton, just the competitiveness, the intensity –I wouldn’t mind if we had a couple of weak sisters where we could get a couple of wins,” he said laughing. “It’s been great, I think we’ve benefited, we’ve improved. And really that’s our theme, that’s what it’s all about, just getting better every single day.”

Junior Will Little knows this team played played the Cowboys close the last time they saw them and expects another close match on Friday.

“We know they’re a good team and we’re a good team and it came down to one point last time,” he said. “We had a dual match point, so, If we go out there and play with the same mentality as last time we know it’s going to be close, and we’ve been practicing for this team the last few days and I think, the outcome will go our way this time.”

Friday’s match begins at 9:00am, in Austin.
