SAN ANTONIO, TX — The National Championship between No. 3 seed Arizona and No. 1 seed Stanford came down to the wire, after Stanford controlled the tempo for a majority of the game. Stanford led 54-53 with under a minute to play, and their defense finished strong down the stretch, forcing Arizona to take a difficult missed shot, in the final seconds of the game. It marks the third time in Tara VanDerveer’s head coaching career, that she’s hoisting the national championship trophy.
