In a season that has not gone as expected for the Baylor Softball team things appear to be looking up, for the time being coming off a double-header sweep, with injured players working their way back into the lineup.
One of those injured players is senior pitcher Regan Green who is coming back from a stress fracture in her ribs. Green saw action on Tuesday night in the circle and is looking forward to helping her team finish strong by offering some relief in the circle.
“I couldn’t help Sidney out on the mound, and that was hard for the team, and hard for me to watch her too,” Green said. “She was having an awesome season and then, when you don’t have anyone else to help you pitch it’s kind of hard.”
Junior Madi O’Neal is happy to have one of the team’s best leaders back out on the field.
“Obviously Regan’s always been a leader on the team,” she said. “Coming through last year she’s been a vocal leader, so even though she can’t have a part playing these last few weeks because of her injuries, she’s been still a leader on the bench, and now that she’s on the field she’s even more of a prominent leader.”
Baylor and Iowa State open a three game series tomorrow night at Getterman Stadium against Iowa State.
