Solomon Looking Forward to Competing For QB Job

Anu Solomon transferred from Arizona this offseason in hopes of landing the starting quarterback job at Baylor.

Before he battles for the starting job with Zach Smith and Charlie Brewer in fall camp, he sat down with Fox 44’s Matt Roberts to discuss his move to Baylor and the upcoming 2017 season.

Solomon said he waited until after the season to start looking for places to transfer, but after talking with Coach Rhule it Didn’t take him long to decide that Baylor was the place for him.

“I feel like we have the same intentions, going into the season and I just can’t wait,” he said.

Despite a 375 yard and 3-touchdown performance by Zach Smith in the Cactus Bowl, just down the road from Solomon’s former School, the University of Arizona, he wanted to come to Baylor compete.

“More of a competition factor, he said. “I’ve been competeting all my life. I think he’s a great player, It just all comes down to who puts The team in the best situations.”
