The Clifton Cubs have been about as dominant as you can be early in the season coming off a 48-0 throttling of McGregor.
This team has high-aspirations when it comes to the postseason, but when they get on the big stages it’s not really a big deal for many members of this football team, because they have already played for a State championship this year, in baseball.
“When you have kids that have had success in another sport, they understand what it takes to win at a high level,” Head Coach Chuck Caniford said. “They understand you’ve got to go to work, every week.”
Mason Brandenberger is the Cubs quarterback and pitched on the state championship team, so he knows first-hand what it takes to get to that level.
“You play in a state championship game, so that’s pretty nerve-racking and exciting. So every game now is kind of a business trip mentality to where you’ve got to go out and do your job to get on that stage, again because that’s kind of our main goal. to get there again and carry the culture from baseball to football.”
The Cubs will host Godley on Friday night, looking to move to 5-0.
