Texas A&M has faced two playoff-caliber teams in the last three weeks with losses to Clemson and Alabama.
While the Aggies are 0-2 in those ballgames, Head Coach Jimbo Fisher, said the valuable lessons are everywhere when you play opponents like those.
“You know you can score against guys, you know you can compete against guys,” Fisher said. “Now you have to translate that into understanding how to win. that’s the next step. Understanding how to take advantage of those opportunities. from watching those two games against the, there’s 2-3 key moments in the game where, and that’s where I say we’ve got to learn. it’s like, getting somebody down and you’re scared to let them up, you know you’ve got to keep pressure and understand how important it is to finish in all those key situations.”
Quarterback Kellen Mond knows they left some plays on the field against Alabama, making the loss sting a little bit more.
“We left a lot of stuff out on the field,” he said. “I thought we could have executed a little bit better. we had our opportunities we just didn’t convert on those.”
The Aggies will be away from Kyle Field again this week as they travel to Arlington to take on Arkansas, in the Southwest Classic.
