The Proud Tradition Continues For Baylor Men’s Tennis

The Baylor Men’s tennis team captured their 22nd Big 12 Title over the weekend their 9th Big 12 Tournament Title in program history.

Brian Boland, in his first year, has continued to build on what Matt Knoll did in his time with the Bears.

“I’m happy for the team,” Boland said. “The seniors have done such a great job leading and they’ve embraced a number of changes through the year that we though was necessary and I’m happy for them.”

One of those seniors is Jimmy Bendeck who is happy that he got a chance to bring a Big 12 Title back to Waco before he left.

“I’m a senior now, so it’s kind of surreal, it’s been a long time coming,” he said. “We’ve had a lot of struggles since I’ve been here. To have the guys the younger guys really pull through for the older guys which is really what happened this weekend was super special their’s something we were actually fighting for and it was obviously an extremely special moment”

The Bears will now await their postseason destination, which will be at home for at least the first few rounds. The first round of the NCAA Tournament will begin the weekend of May 3rd.
