The Dallas Cowboys opened training camp with their first practice, and it was hard to find anyone more excited than Cowboys 1st round pick Leighton Vander Esch.
Vander Esch grew up in the little town of Riggins, Idaho as a life-long Cowboys fan. Coming from a town of 410 people to a big piece of the Cowboys future is a dream come true for the 1st round pick.
“Everybody knows this is where I want to be, my whole entire life,” he said. “To get rolling, and get going with the preparation of the season, is awesome.”
The Cowboys will hold another practice on Friday without pads before strapping up for their first padded practice on Saturday.
