UMHB Men’s Tennis Falls to U.T. Dallas

BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s tennis kept every match close, but could not pull out a win as the Cru dropped a 9-0 decision to U.T.-Dallas Saturday afternoon in Belton. UMHB drops to 3-5 overall and 2-1 in American Southwest Conference play with the loss. The Comets improve to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in ASC West play with the victory.

The Cru returns to action with a 1 pm home match against Concordia Texas on Tuesday. That will be the final home match of the year for the UMHB men.

2. Alberto Hernandez (UTD) def. Alex Mackellar (UMHB-MEN) 6-2, 6-0

4. Ashwin Vaithianathan (UTD) def. Brian Martin (UMHB-MEN) 6-4, 6-1

5. Eric Chen (UTD) def. Robert Galligan (UMHB-MEN) 6-1, 2-1, retired

6. Ryan Morton (UTD) def. Jake Boles (UMHB-MEN) 6-0, 7-5

 

Doubles competition

1. Ashwin Vaithianathan/Eric Chen (UTD) def. Cole Weiss/Jace Mahan (UMHB-MEN) 8-3

2. Mario Jelev/Giovanni Zamboni (UTD) def. Robert Galligan/Brian Martin (UMHB-MEN) 8-5
