GLEN ROSE, Texas – After a second round played in gloomy weather conditions, it was fitting that the sun broke through in full force on Sunday as the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s golf team took advantage to shine brightly in the final round of the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament. The Cru rolled to a 21-stroke victory to claim a second consecutive ASC title and clinch the 12th conference championship in program history.

UMHB finished with a 316-325-312=953 team total to beat Concordia Texas’ second place total of 321-340-313=974 by 21 strokes. UT Dallas claimed third place after shooting 332-325-320=977. Hardin-Simmons (996) took fourth place, edging East Texas Baptist’s fifth place total of 997 by one stroke. A nine-team field competed in the ASC Championship Tournament.

The Cru’s Olivia Robinson won individual medalist honors after firing a 74-78-72=224 to beat Concordia’s Madyson Milliorn (230) by six shots. Robinson is the 11th UMHB player to win individual medalist honors at the ASC Women’s Golf Championship Tournament. Victoria Gleghorn tied for fourth place individually for UMHB after posting 81-82-78=241, Cassidy Rawls finished in ninth place with a 77-87-79=243, and Jade Ming (86-80-86) and Annie Hasselbach (84-85-83) tied for 16th place after both players carded 252’s for the Cru. Robinson and Gleghorn also earned spots on the ASC All-Tournament Team.

The three-day, 54-hole event was played on a par-72, 5,846-yard layout on the Comanche Lakes Course at Squaw Valley Golf Club in Glen Rose. The Cru women will now advance to the NCAA Division III National Championships. This will also be the 12th NCAA postseason appearance in program history. That tournament will be played May 14-17th at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston with UMHB serving as co-hosts of the event.
