For the first time in several years Texas A&M enters the spring with an unquestioned starter at Quarterback as Junior Kellen Mond has taken full control of his leadership role.
Mond led the Aggies to nine wins and a Gator Bowl Victory last year and even though there’s no one pushing him per se, he wants to keep pushing himself to get better.
“Not to be satisfied and continue to grow,” Mond said when asked what his goals are. “I Understand where we can be and what type of team we can be. We’ve got a lot of guys coming back. Some key guys that left but, we still understand what type of team we can be and we’ve got a helluva schedule so we’re definitely up for it.”
Mond in his second year under head coach, Jimbo Fisher, and Fisher sees a big difference in Mond with a year under his belt in the system.
“At the end of the year he had success bring a team back and winning a bowl game which we hadn’t done, and learning how to prepare,” Fisher said. “You can see definitely he feels very comfortable in what we’re doing. He’s a lot more advanced in how we’re talking the conversations we have and the reads, you can just see it.”
