Year Off ‘Humbled’ Former Baylor Quarterback, Stidham

Sports

Jarrett Stidham was featured at SEC Media Days representing the Auburn Tigers just about three years after playing his final game as a true freshman at Baylor.

Stidham has taken command of the Auburn Tigers offense and recently got engaged to his girlfriend and Baylor soccer player, Kennedy Brown. While things appear to be in good shape for Stidham these days, it was just a few years ago where he had decided to transfer from Baylor, but elected to work out on his own while taking classes at MCC.

Stidham even practiced with Midway High School as a scout team quarterback to stay sharp during his off year. He said that year allowed him to take a step back and realize just how much he missed the game.

“It was a humbling experience to have to go through something like that,” he said. “I don’t know of anybody that’s had to take a year off, where you had to be on your own, and work out with a high school team that you don’t know anybody at. It was a very humbling experience. It is pretty surreal to just look back at everything and see how far I’ve come.”

Stidham and the Tigers open the season against Washington on September 1st.
