The Baylor Mens Basketball team lost their first game, in 57 tries, against a Southwestern Athletic Conference team on Tuesday night, at the Ferrell Center.
Coach drew knew he had a young team coming into the season and that showed itself against an experienced Tigers team.
“We played like we had first-game jitters,” Drew said. “Probably in hindsight, probably a couple things I would have done differently, I probably would have had us have an exhibition game, just to get their uniforms on, because there were so many new guys, because it was a different feel in the scrimmages because we played much better.”
Senior King McClure gave it his best effort, but the growing pains of this young team were on display.
“I feel like at certain times tonight we showed our immaturity,” he said. “Credit to Texas Southern, they play hard, it kind of seemed like they wanted the game more than us. in a sense.”
The Bears will have a chance to get their first win of the season when they host another SWAC opponent. Southern will be at the Ferrell Center for a 5:00pm tip on Saturday.
